End Times

I had this interesting epiphany yesterday. While at work, I was doing some research on organ donation. I'm on the hospital's Donor-Life Committee. Granted, some people have strong opinions about this but, hear me out... Many clergy refer to this whole process as a miracle. And I've been mulling over this: is it a miracle? Are we messing in God's territory? Shouldn't we be seeking a supernatural healing? And then it dawned on me -

As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near.' Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. (Matthew 10:7-8)

People say that science & faith cannot exist. I think God has blessed us with a new way of healing; not that it replaces prayer -- if God wants to heal supernaturally, he will!! But how awesome is God that he allows us to participate with him in the healing thru the gift of medical technology. It's like a practical way the Kingdom of God is at hand. We're doing what he said we would do -- it just doesn't always look like we expect.

In my somewhat "humble" opinion which is not gospel I believe God created science...there is no separation. We as humans have separated it in our own sick need for control and power. God is the ultimate healer, but also gives us the tools through the Holy Spirit and through medicine to heal others.
I truly believe that God made an intervention in Paul's life by allowing his kidney's to fail. Had he not had a transplant he could have died and not met Christ which is scary. God provided medically to allow the transplant to be successful. Plus, his sister's kidney was not a perfect match and so he has to be on anti-rejection medication for maybe the rest of his life...and he has done well so far. But if his donor kidney had been a perfect match they would have possibly taken him off the anti-rejection meds and if his kidney failure had been previously caused by an auto-immune disease or the like then it could have attacked the new kidney as well....but maybe God would have just completely healed him...or maybe he is completely healed...I believe that all that is good is God. God created science. And I truly believe he allows miracles even where science says there can be none or vice versa.
I am so glad you shared your epiphany! You are wise!! I like how you explain it!!

I agree! Most definitely can science & faith coexist. But that's easy for me to say since I benefited from one of these "miracles". Nonetheless, science should not be feared as we can use it to learn more about His magnificent design and do it in his glory.

Hey PBMax ~ you're totally who I was thinking about when writing this! I just think when God works creatively in a way that we haven't initially thought is very cool.
